Anna Triandafyllidou has received her BA in sociology from Panteion University in Athens, Greece (1990) and her PhD in the Social and Political Sciences from the European University Institute of Florence (1995). She has held teaching and research positions at the University of Surrey (1994-95), London School of Economics (1995-97), Consiglio Nazionale per le Ricerche in Rome (1997-99), New York University (2001), Bristol University (2001-02) and European University Institute of Florence (1992-1994 and 1999-2004). She has been Assistant Professor at the Democritus University of Thrace between 2007 and 2010 and is currently on unpaid long-term leave from this University. She has been part time Professor at the RSCAS of the European University in the period 2009-2012. She has published more than 100 articles in refereed journals and chapters in collective volumes on these topics. She has authored five books and edited and co-edited 15 volumes. Dr Angeliki DimitriadiAngeliki Dimitriadi studied International Relations &History at the London School of Economics (1999-2002) and obtained her MA in War Studies from King’s College London (2002-2003). She was awarded with distinction her Ph.D. in Social Administration from Democritus University of Thrace (2009-2012), which was partially realized with a scholarship from the Leventis Foundation. Her research interests lie in the field of irregular & transit migration from South and Southeast Asia, the securitization of migration and asylum policies, as well as gender issues &social inclusion. She has contributed in researches and studies on social policy issues and has previously worked on the submission and management of European funded projects and initiatives. She speaks English and French.
Ms Michaela Maroufof Pre-doctoral Researcher (Research on the cases of Georgia and Pakistan)
Michaela MaroufofMichaela Maroufof graduated from the department of Political Science and History of Panteion University in Athens in 2005. She holds an M. Sc. in Sociology following the track of Migration and Ethnic Studies (2006) from the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences of the University of Amsterdam and the topic of her Master’s thesis was the integration of the repatriates from the former Soviet Union into the Greek society. She is a Junior Research Fellow at  ELIAMEP (Hellenic Foundation of European and Foreign Policy) and since 2007 she has been involved in a number of international research projects including IDEA (Mediterranean and Eastern European Countries as new immigration destinations in the European Union), FRIM (Fundamental Rights Situation of Irregular Migrants in the European Union) and MOVEACT (All Citizens Now: Intra-EU Mobility and Political Participation of English, Germans, Poles and Romanians in Western and Southern Europe).

Marina NikolovaMarina Nikolova has graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Media Communications of the Aristotle University (Thessaloniki) in 2004 and has been awarded a Master’s degree in Cultural studies from the Panteion University (Athens) in 2006. She is working as a Junior Research Fellow at ELIAMEP (Athens). Since 2010 she is assistant national coordinator for the European Web Site on Integration coordinated by the Migration Policy Group (MPG) in Brussels and sponsored by the European Commission. Since 2007, Marina Nikolova has been involved in several European research projects: “Treatment of Third Country Nationals at EU’s External Borders” commissioned by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and coordinated by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) (2011-2012); FRIM – Fundamental Rights Situation of Irregular Immigrants in the European Union conducted by FRA and ICMPD (2010); IDEA – Mediterranean and Eastern European Countries as New Migration Destinations (2007-2009). She has relevant to the research publications.

His first book: US Foreign Policy in the European Media: Framing the Rise and Fall of Neoconservatism was published by IB TAURIS in September 2012 and his second one: The Greek Crisis in the Media  by Ashgate in May 2013. George worked as a columnist in politics and international relations for Apogevmatini newspaper from January 2007 until January 2010, has taught propaganda at Loughborough University and has co-operated as a researcher with the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). ?e speaks English, French, German and Italian

P1000890Panos Hatziprokopiou (born 1974) teaches at the Department of Spatial Planning and Development, Aristotle University of Thesaloniki. From October 2012 until August 2013, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) in Athens. Panos received his BA in Economics from the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece (1998), an MA in Social and Economic Development from the University of Essex (UK) and a PhD in Contemporary European Studies (migration) from Sussex University (UK). He has previously been a Research Fellow at Middlesex University (2004-09) and the University of Surrey (20010-11) in Britain. His main areas of research are migration, especially with respect to immigrants’ incorporation, labour market integration and entrepreneurship, as well as urban sociology and geography, with a particular focus on diversity and otherness in the contemporary metropolis. KleopatraKleopatra Yousef worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) in Athens from October 2012-August 2013. She was involved in the research project on Governance of Irregular Migration (IRMA) focusing on Pakistani irregular migration to Greece and in the research project Developing a cooperation network to link representatives of Mediterranean member states facing similar challenges as Greece in respect to the integration of third country nationals. She has graduated from the Social Administration Department of the Democritus University of Thrace in Athens and holds a Master of Science degree on the subject of “European Politics and Policies” from the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven (KUL), Belgium (2005). Her research experience includes the Middle-East, North Africa and wide Euro-Mediterranean area focusing on issues such as integration of third-country nationals and community development. She graduated in History and Archaeology from the University of Athens and holds a Master’s in History and Film from the University of Kent and a Master’s in History and Civilization from the European University Institute in Florence. She has worked as a researcher at the Hellenic Foundation of European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP, Athens) and at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (EUI, Florence) and has participated in research projects on issues of migration, far-right, human rights and social movements by focusing on the case of Greece under the crisis. Professor Anna Triandafyllidou Principal Investigator
triadafyllidouAnna Triandafyllidou is Professor and Director of a Programme on Cultural Diversity in a Globalised World at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies of the European University Institute, clinic
in Florence, Italy (2012- ). She is also Senior Fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) in Athens since 2004 (on a full time basis until 2010) and teaches as Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges since 2002. Anna Triandafyllidou has received her BA in sociology from Panteion University in Athens, Greece (1990) and her PhD in the Social and Political Sciences from the European University Institute of Florence (1995). She has held teaching and research positions at the University of Surrey (1994-95), London School of Economics (1995-97), Consiglio Nazionale per le Ricerche in Rome (1997-99), New York University (2001), Bristol University (2001-02) and European University Institute of Florence (1992-1994 and 1999-2004). She has been Assistant Professor at the Democritus University of Thrace between 2007 and 2010 and is currently on unpaid long-term leave from this University. She has been part time Professor at the RSCAS of the European University in the period 2009-2012. She has published more than 100 articles in refereed journals and chapters in collective volumes on these topics. She has authored five books and edited and co-edited 15 volumes. Ms Eda Gemi Assistant Coordinator and Researcher (Research on the case of Albania)
Eda GemiEda Gemi is a Research Fellow at the ELIAMEP and PhD candidate at the Institute for Migration and Diaspora Studies, Department of Political Sciences and Public Administration, University of Athens. She was a research assistant at the European University Institute, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, inFlorence,Italyin 2010-2012. Her main areas of research are: social and political integration of migrants, migration and integration policies, circular migration, media and gender of migration. In the framework of her research activity, she has collaborated with academic and research institutions such as Aegean University (domestic work and migrant women), EUI (METOIKOS & MEDIVA projects), ELIAMEP (MOVEACT & POLITIS projects), University of Sussex (Gender & Remittances project), Harokopeio University of Athens (Data collection for Immigrant Associations), IMEPO, Center for Gender Studies of Panteio University, Research Center for Gender Equality – KETHI, Centre for European Constitutional Law, EKEME, Economic University of Athens and Institute for Migration and Diaspora Studies of University of Athens.

Angeliki Dimitriadi picAngeliki Dimitriadi studied International Relations &History at the London School of Economics (1999-2002) and obtained her MA in War Studies from King’s College London (2002-2003). She was awarded with distinction her Ph.D. in Social Administration from Democritus University of Thrace (2009-2012), which was partially realized with a scholarship from the Leventis Foundation. Her research interests lie in the field of irregular & transit migration from South and Southeast Asia, the securitization of migration and asylum policies, as well as gender issues &social inclusion. She has contributed in researches and studies on social policy issues and has previously worked on the submission and management of European funded projects and initiatives. She speaks English and French.

Michaela MaroufofMichaela Maroufof graduated from the department of Political Science and History of Panteion University in Athens in 2005. She holds an M. Sc. in Sociology following the track of Migration and Ethnic Studies (2006) from the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences of the University of Amsterdam and the topic of her Master’s thesis was the integration of the repatriates from the former Soviet Union into the Greek society. Marina NikolovaMarina Nikolova has graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Media Communications of the Aristotle University (Thessaloniki) in 2004 and has been awarded a Master’s degree in Cultural studies from the Panteion University (Athens) in 2006. She is working as a Junior Research Fellow at ELIAMEP (Athens). Since 2010 she is assistant national coordinator for the European Web Site on Integration coordinated by the Migration Policy Group (MPG) in Brussels and sponsored by the European Commission. Since 2007, Marina Nikolova has been involved in several European research projects: “Treatment of Third Country Nationals at EU’s External Borders” commissioned by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and coordinated by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) (2011-2012); FRIM – Fundamental Rights Situation of Irregular Immigrants in the European Union conducted by FRA and ICMPD (2010); IDEA – Mediterranean and Eastern European Countries as New Migration Destinations (2007-2009). George 02 George Tzogopoulos obtained his doctorate in Social Sciences (Media & Communication Studies) from Loughborough University in November 2008. His first book: US Foreign Policy in the European Media: Framing the Rise and Fall of Neoconservatism was published by IB TAURIS in September 2012 and his second one: The Greek Crisis in the Media  by Ashgate in May 2013. George worked as a columnist in politics and international relations for Apogevmatini newspaper from January 2007 until January 2010, has taught propaganda at Loughborough University and has co-operated as a researcher with the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). ?e speaks English, French, German and Italian
Dr Hara Kouki Post-doctoral Researcher (Contribution to the research on the case of Pakistan & the Comparative Report)

She graduated in History and Archaeology from the University of Athens and holds a Master’s in History and Film from the University of Kent and a Master’s in History and Civilization from the European University Institute in Florence. She has worked as a researcher at the Hellenic Foundation of European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP, Athens) and at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (EUI, Florence) and has participated in research projects on issues of migration, far-right, human rights and social movements by focusing on the case of Greece under the crisis. Hara has co-edited ‘Protest beyond Borders: Contentious Politics in Europe since 1945 (Berghahn, 2011) and ‘The Greek Crisis and European Modernity’ (Palgrave, 2013).

Dr Panos Hatziprokopiou Assistant Coordinator
P1000890Panos Hatziprokopiou (born 1974) teaches at the Department of Spatial Planning and Development, Aristotle University of Thesaloniki. From October 2012 until August 2013, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) in Athens. Panos received his BA in Economics from the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece (1998), an MA in Social and Economic Development from the University of Essex (UK) and a PhD in Contemporary European Studies (migration) from Sussex University (UK). He has previously been a Research Fellow at Middlesex University (2004-09) and the University of Surrey (20010-11) in Britain. His main areas of research are migration, especially with respect to immigrants’ incorporation, labour market integration and entrepreneurship, as well as urban sociology and geography, with a particular focus on diversity and otherness in the contemporary metropolis. His research experience and expertise cover Greece, Britain, Southern Europe and the Balkans. He has published several articles on aspects of the above topics in refereed journals and chapters in edited volumes, including the books: Globalisation, migration and socio-economic change in contemporary Greece (2006, Amsterdam University Press).
Ms Kleopatra Yousef Pre-doctoral Researcher (Research on the case of Pakistan)
KleopatraKleopatra Yousef worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) in Athens from October 2012-August 2013. She was involved in the research project on Governance of Irregular Migration (IRMA) focusing on Pakistani irregular migration to Greece and in the research project Developing a cooperation network to link representatives of Mediterranean member states facing similar challenges as Greece in respect to the integration of third country nationals. She has graduated from the Social Administration Department of the Democritus University of Thrace in Athens and holds a Master of Science degree on the subject of “European Politics and Policies” from the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven (KUL), Belgium (2005). Her research experience includes the Middle-East, North Africa and wide Euro-Mediterranean area focusing on issues such as integration of third-country nationals and community development. (EuropeAid project on “Bridging the Gap: Building Community Empowerment and Sustainable Development in Southern Giza Marginal Communities”). She has also looked into human smuggling in Greece as part of a UNODC project on human smuggling in Northern Africa.

She is also Senior Fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) in Athens since 2004 (on a full time basis until 2010) and teaches as Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges since 2002. Anna Triandafyllidou has received her BA in sociology from Panteion University in Athens, Greece (1990) and her PhD in the Social and Political Sciences from the European University Institute of Florence (1995). She has held teaching and research positions at the University of Surrey (1994-95), London School of Economics (1995-97), Consiglio Nazionale per le Ricerche in Rome (1997-99), New York University (2001), Bristol University (2001-02) and European University Institute of Florence (1992-1994 and 1999-2004). She has been Assistant Professor at the Democritus University of Thrace between 2007 and 2010 and is currently on unpaid long-term leave from this University. She has been part time Professor at the RSCAS of the European University in the period 2009-2012. She has published more than 100 articles in refereed journals and chapters in collective volumes on these topics. She has authored five books and edited and co-edited 15 volumes. Ms Eda Gemi Assistant Coordinator and Researcher (Research on the case of Albania)
Eda GemiEda Gemi is a Research Fellow at the ELIAMEP and PhD candidate at the Institute for Migration and Diaspora Studies, Department of Political Sciences and Public Administration, University of Athens. She was a research assistant at the European University Institute, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, inFlorence,Italyin 2010-2012. Her main areas of research are: social and political integration of migrants, migration and integration policies, circular migration, media and gender of migration. Dr Angeliki Dimitriadi Post-doctoral Researcher (Research on the case of Afghanistan)
Angeliki Dimitriadi picAngeliki Dimitriadi studied International Relations &History at the London School of Economics (1999-2002) and obtained her MA in War Studies from King’s College London (2002-2003). She was awarded with distinction her Ph.D. in Social Administration from Democritus University of Thrace (2009-2012), which was partially realized with a scholarship from the Leventis Foundation. Her research interests lie in the field of irregular & transit migration from South and Southeast Asia, the securitization of migration and asylum policies, as well as gender issues &social inclusion. She has contributed in researches and studies on social policy issues and has previously worked on the submission and management of European funded projects and initiatives. She speaks English and French.
Ms Michaela Maroufof Pre-doctoral Researcher (Research on the cases of Georgia and Pakistan)
Michaela MaroufofMichaela Maroufof graduated from the department of Political Science and History of Panteion University in Athens in 2005. She holds an M. Sc. in Sociology following the track of Migration and Ethnic Studies (2006) from the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences of the University of Amsterdam and the topic of her Master’s thesis was the integration of the repatriates from the former Soviet Union into the Greek society. She is a Junior Research Fellow at  ELIAMEP (Hellenic Foundation of European and Foreign Policy) and since 2007 she has been involved in a number of international research projects including IDEA (Mediterranean and Eastern European Countries as new immigration destinations in the European Union), FRIM (Fundamental Rights Situation of Irregular Migrants in the European Union) and MOVEACT (All Citizens Now: Intra-EU Mobility and Political Participation of English, Germans, Poles and Romanians in Western and Southern Europe).

She is working as a Junior Research Fellow at ELIAMEP (Athens). Since 2010 she is assistant national coordinator for the European Web Site on Integration coordinated by the Migration Policy Group (MPG) in Brussels and sponsored by the European Commission. Dr Angeliki Dimitriadi participated in the annual conference of the Canadian Association for Refugee and Forced Migration Studies (CARFMS) held in Toronto, heart
Canada from the 13th to the 15th of May 2015. Dr. Dimitriadi presented the results of the IRMA project pertaining to Afghan migration to Greece.
